Sitting at the Feet of Jesus – To Affirm

What do you think about when you hear the word “Surrender”? In considering what you have learned in the world through your life experiences, would you say it is a good word or a bad word? Are there any specific feelings that the word surrender brings about when someone has spoken it to you? Has anyone ever talked to you about surrendering your will to that of God’s will?

With our monthly focus being affirming love, there was a sense of urgency with two words, really, but this one spoke a tad bit louder in studying it. The importance of surrender runs deep. It is a foundational root in the constructs of our new found freedom in Jesus Christ. The river of living water found within its usage throughout scripture is of a caliber of that which remains after the world shaking is endured. That is, of course, to say the least. Let us begin….READ MORE AT THE CWBC BLOG on January 3rd, 2021.

Sitting at the Feet of Jesus – To Surrender

Have you ever heard the word “Affirm”? Do you know what it means to affirm something in the words that you use? Have you practiced speaking words of faith lately?

In my study, I asked God, “Is this word of profit for Your glory to share today in this season, Father?” I did not wait long for a confirmation. There followed a confidence of blessed assurance that it was good to do so. Our focus this month is affirming our love for God. We must be sure we know what affirming means in order to do so, of course. Let us begin….READ MORE AT THE CWBC BLOG on January 10th, 2021.

Sitting at the Feet of Jesus – To Be Humble

Have you heard the word “Humility” used in a scoffing manner, as if it were a weakness? Do you find it ‘hard to be humble’ in certain circumstances or even all circumstances? What comes to mind when you read, hear, or speak the word “humility”. Is it received as a corrective admonishing or do you reject the idea because of the way some folks of the world use it in a derogatory fashion? Have you ever been instructed or encouraged by an elder-in-spirit or spiritual mentor to look for ways to be humble? Did that sit well with the flesh? Did it sit well with the Spirit within you?

With our monthly focus being affirming love, as I wrote about last week, there were two words that had a sense of urgency attached to them – Surrender & Humility. The importance of both runs deep. In order to overcome pride, and walk in the abject, humbling state of existence that we are called to in our identity with and in Jesus Christ, we must learn this importance. There is great value in being humble in all of our ways, but what does that look like… really? Lord knows it does not come in the natural by any stretch of the imagination! It is only in Him that we achieve finding and walking in a spirit of humility. Let’s delve in, shall we?….READ MORE AT THE CWBC BLOG on January 17th, 2021.

Sitting at the Feet of Jesus – Honoring

As we see in this scripture (Psalm 15:31-33), “Honor” is something that comes after Humility as we discussed on our last blog post. But what is “honor?” Does this understanding come from wisdom? If so, are you seeking the Lord for that wisdom? How does one attain the “honor” spoken of in this passage? What does it look like to achieve the level of humility required to do so? How does this requirement impact your flesh? How does it impact your spirit?

As mentioned in our last post, “in order to overcome pride, and walk in the abject, humbling state of existence that we are called to in our identity with and in Jesus Christ, we must learn” the importance of these things that we are called to practice in Him. Join me as we delve into what it means to receive and give “Honor.”….READ MORE AT THE CWBC BLOG on January 31st, 2021.

Sitting at the Feet of Jesus – Resting

Today, I wanted to do something a bit different. To demonstrate instead of write on this subject, I am sharing the Word of God in full chapter form. The Word can do it all on it’s own. There is no need for me to write fancy-schmancy stuff… although I do enjoy doing that. I will reel it in this week and allow His Word to minister to the hearts that it reaches, in His timing and in His way.

This full chapter is eloquently titled, “Believer’s Rest” in the NASB translation. You are a believer. This rest is available to you. What does it look like, in action, in our daily walk to stay in His rest? What does it mean to enter His rest? How can we come to Him in all things to find His rest? These are very valid questions that I challenge you to consider as you read the scripture shared below. For we know that God’s Word does not return to Him void, it will accomplish what He desires, and it will succeed in the matter for which He sent it…..READ MORE AT THE CWBC BLOG on February 7th, 2021.

Sitting at the Feet of Jesus – Loved

YOU ARE LOVED! This is your Valentine reminder! A Blessed day to you this Sunday! Today, let us reset our focus on the One, Who IS LOVE, shall we? There are times that you may be tempted to believe that you are not loved. Do not accept it. There are times that you may be tempted to feel unworthy and of no value. Do not receive it. The truth of your worth is found in the Lord. The truth of your value is found in the Lord. The truth of how GREATLY you are loved is not found in you – it is found in Him, dear heart.

The truth is found Only in Jesus Christ.

He is our reconciliation and key to the relationship of this GREAT & AMAZING LOVE found in the Father for His children. You are His child. He loves you so very much. You are loved…..READ MORE AT THE CWBC BLOG on February 14th, 2021.

Sitting at the Feet of Jesus – With the Helper

There is a pivotal, foundational, firmly-rooted importance in investing time in His Word – that is what echoes in conversation after conversation. I hear it loudly in this season. How often do you invest in the Word? Are you speed reading or are you quality reading with the guidance and teaching of the Helper? The Holy Spirit leads us into all truth. And He has been promised to us children of God. Have you received the gift of the Holy Spirit?….READ MORE AT THE CWBC BLOG on February 21st, 2021.
